The Art Project is a pop-up art gallery bringing good art to the burbs.
Artist Sarah Fox Horsfield is on a mission to get some more art in the burbs. She currently lives in the Applewood neighborhood in Lakewood, CO and is working to bring some creativity and cool art to the burbs through a pop-up gallery. The first pop-up was a huge success and the next one is in the works for June 6th and 7th.
For the next show The Art Project is going to hang the work inside of a big huge moving truck and park it in a couple of places over a couple of days. It will be a small works show with a variety of artists and a variety of amazing work.
Come by and say hello.
Details for the two night event:
Thursday, June 6th 5:30-9PM
Come check out the show before we go public for First Friday.
We will be parking the truck in a private, kinda hidden spot on Thursday. Come on by and see the art before anyone else - and bring your friends! There will be beer and light snacks.
The spot will be easy to find. First go to 1930 Tabor Street (please park on the street), then follow the signs up the driveway to an open space in back.
1930 Tabor Street, Lakewood 80215
First Friday @ 40West
Friday, June 7th 5-9:30PM
Have you checked out the new art district called 40West that is along West Colfax? It just won Westword’s ‘Best Art District’ for 2019. We will have our truck parked right in the middle of their free, circus themed Art Crawl Party for First Friday. Come walk gallery to gallery, check out some immersive art experiences, watch performance artists, and visit some food trucks. There will also be fun kid activities. Learn more about the district at www.40westarts.org.
We will be parked in the heart of the action so you won’t be able to miss us. However, we will post on our website the specific spot we will be parked closer to the date. For now, the approximate location is:
1560 Teller Street, LAkewood 80214
We hope you can make the show. You will be supporting talented artists and helping build creative momentum in the burbs. A portion of the proceeds will go towards a public art project and help build a creative community to make thE BURBS an even better place to live.
